The fascinating story of DMSO began in the 1960s, when Stanley Jacob, MD, head of the organ transplant program at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, was investigating compounds that might help preserve organs for transplant. DMSO, which had been used as an industrial solvent, attracted his attention because of the way it penetrates skin without damaging it. From the start, DMSO was highly controversial—and some were worried that this “miracle” drug had harmful side effects, although nothing specific was found. By the mid-1960s, DMSO was a popular product in health-food stores. It was inexpensive—and it worked! The only approval DMSO has received from the FDA is for organ preservation during transplantation and as a local treatment for interstitial cystitis, a painful condition that involves inflammation of the bladder. DMSO is, however, approved for use throughout Canada and Europe as a topical treatment for pain, inflammation, scleroderma (an autoimmune disease of the skin) and arthritis.

It also is widely used by veterinarians to treat animal injuries, especially in horses. If you have never heard of DMSO, I can understand that you may doubt its usefulness, but I know it to be a safe and effective treatment and so do my patients who use it.

Once in a while there comes a natural remedy which is more like a miracle THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE . DMSO or Dimethyl sulfoxide which has gone unnoticed by the medical fraternity despite having properties which are nothing short of being phenomenal. (DMSO has been “unnoticed” or has been covered up by the pharmaceutical companies because it is natural and it works to remove pain.)  Beginning from providing an ease for skin ailments, DMSO has the potential to treat deadly diseases like cancer. The role of DMSO in genetics is significant. DMSO has the miraculous property of protecting animal cells from damage caused by radiation. DMSO has many therapeutic properties related to reduction of trauma in brain injuries. It is an effective free radical scavenger and is an ideal medication for healing brain trauma. Put together, DMSO is surely a wonder drug (natural remedy) which has yet to find the rightful place in the treatment of various illnesses and diseases. DMSO Works In Different Ways

  1. First, as a topical compound, it has analgesic properties and reduces pain quickly—which is why it is great for rubbing on sore muscles and joints. Laboratory studies suggest that it decreases pain by blocking peripheral nerve C fibers. DMSO reduces inflammation by acting as an antioxidant—and so it neutralizes some of the free radicals that promote inflammation. Some evidence suggests that it also can ease swelling, further helping with aches and pains.

2. Second, DMSO is rich in sulfur—and sulfur is found in every cell and is essential for life. From what we know about DMSO, some of its sulfur is used to create new cells involved in the healing process and in the production of glutathione, the body’s most powerful antioxidant.

3. Third, DMSO dissolves and transports other substances through the skin, which makes it a great carrier and helper in getting other substances into sore or damaged tissues. I have often mixed DMSO with pharmaceutical anti-inflammatory and pain medications, such as ketoprofen (Actron) or gabapentin (Neurotin), so that people can use these combinations topically without damaging the heart and digestive tract. The best way to mix DMSO with drugs is to have a holistic doctor write a prescription for you and to have it made at a compounding pharmacy.

Used in this way, DMSO can provide real relief of symptoms for many conditions, including back pain, severe arthritis of the hands, shingles, severe nerve pain and many other localized problems. It also has been found to promote the healing of leg and foot ulcers and to speed up healing after surgery.

How to use DMSO: Make sure your hands are clean before applying DMSO, especially since it is efficient at transferring substances through the skin. For acute injuries, apply up to four times daily. For chronic conditions, apply twice daily. It can be used for a few days, a few weeks or indefinitely, depending on the condition. Apply a small amount to the painful area and rub it in. Wash your hands after applying DMSO so that excess is not absorbed by your skin.

DMSO and Jim Humble’s MMS – Master Mineral Solution

What is DMSO?

Dimethyl sulfoxide, or DMSO, also known as Topical Penetrant Solution (TPS), is an industrial solvent that is a by-product of making paper from timber. It has been promoted as an alternative cancer treatment since the 1960s. Other names for it: C2H6OS, sulphinybismethane,  dimethylis sulfoxidum, methyl sulphoxide, NSC-763, SQ-9453, Rimso-50®, sulphinybismethane, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl sulphoxide-  DMSO is much easier to remember!

DMSO (TPS) — is a sulfur-containing organic compound. DMSO occurs naturally in vegetables, fruits, grains, and animal products and has been used for over 100 years as a solvent in the United States. It is a natural substance derived from wood pulp and is harmless when used with the proper precautions. It is sold as a solvent. DMSO is an amazing substance that has many uses throughout the world.

DMSO has been used to treat erosive gastritis, amyloidosis (abnormal build up of protein), diabetic foot ulcers,  and ischemia (your heart muscle doesn’t get enough oxygen) and prevention  of these conditions, but well designed clinical trials are lacking. Because of the limited scientific evidence, whether DMSO provides effective treatment of patients with closed head trauma, herpes zoster, tendopathies (refers to a disease of a tendon), and complex regional pain syndrome (a chronic pain condition most often affecting one of the limbs (arms, legs, hands, or feet), usually after an injury or trauma to that limb).DMSO will require more research.

Evidence

Interstitial cystitis (chronic bladder infection): Intravesical DMSO is U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved for interstitial cystitis when given by a qualified healthcare professional. DMSO may work when other treatments have failed.

Who Discovered DMSO was useful in the medical field?

It was noticed that in the logging industry that those employees working directly with the sap and in the waters around the logs were experiencing less pain and ailments of sickness. There was something in the water or the logs that was healing their bodies.

In Portland Oregon, some of the inside people of the logging industry were taking home barrels of the DMSO  and soaking their whole bodies in the solution.   According to a cancer site below they report that DMSO was first discovered in the mid- to late nineteenth century and has been used as an industrial solvent for more than a hundred years. In the 1950s, it was discovered that DMSO could protect cells from the damage of freezing. (for this reason DMSO is used to soak transplant organs during transport so they wont freeze.)

REMEMBER: That money controls the suppression of natural remedies. Big pharma puts out a new drug, pays off its studies/ its approval, puts it on the market as a solution to an non existing disease, advertises it on TV as a miracle, takes doctors on expensive vacations, gives doctors a kick back for prescribing this new drug, and pockets trillions of dollars. So what it it has side effects? So what if 20,000 people are maimed or die of its use? These people get paid to shut up. So what if it costs then one million dollars per dead person? That is factored into the over all expense of selling the new drug and making billions of dollars!

Directly from Jim Humble:  These protocol improvements may be what you are waiting for. There are some diseases that appear on occasion to be especially resistant to MMS in certain people — for example, some people have had problems overcoming herpes and others have had problems with Candida. We keep finding new ways to improve the action of MMS or ways to improve the reaction time so that one gets well faster. In other words, the basics are known but fine tuning is ongoing.

 Three New Improvements to MMS by using DMSO

Two are very important and one is minor, though it could be major for some people.

1.  Include DMSO

Add a small amount of DMSO to each hourly dose. This can be done with both protocols 1000 and 2000.

Protocol 1000: a maximum of 3 drops of MMS and 3 drops of citric acid each hour for 8 hours a day;

Protocol 2000: as many drops of each (MMS and citric in equal amounts) every hour as you can take (without feeling sicker) for 10 hours a day. Both protocols call for reducing the drops if one begins to feel bad.  Please see www.jimhumble.biz  for more details.

Use one drop of DMSO for each drop of MMS. Add the DMSO only after the reaction of the MMS and citric acid has completed (that’s 20 seconds when using 50% citric acid). Give the mixture 3 minutes to complete after adding the DMSO. Of course, always stir the mixture.

2.  Enjoy an Improved Taste of MMS (water purification)

The addition of DMSO drops improves the taste and makes it easier to take the MMS.

3.  Take More Hourly Doses

Although I have encouraged people to increase the number of hours a day in which they take MMS, I should mention that Kerri Rivera was the first person to report actually doing so and she also reports better results from it. She is having her people do more than 8 or 10 hours a day — up to 12 or 15 hours and even longer.

Many are reporting more results from the longer hours and also from adding DMSO. We first increased the number of hours, getting improvements, and then we added the DMSO and got more improvement.

In all cases, if you begin to notice nausea or other negative reactions, reduce the amount of MMS you are taking in each hourly dose.

Affidavits

Affidavits are a weapon that we can use against those who would try to stop MMS, especially the FDA. When a success story is sent to us, it is nice and we appreciate it, but in court it is nothing more than hearsay. On the other hand, if one has made a sworn affidavit from the success story, it can then be used as evidence in court. Affidavits have been used as evidence for a hundred years — no court would disallow them, and if it did, it would be reversed in a higher court.

This is bad news for the FDA and other agencies that seek to stop MMS. If one takes several persons to court who testify to being personally healed by MMS or any other medicine, the FDA can bring a few in who claim they were harmed. Then the court will judge accordingly. But:

When we walk into court with 1,000 success stories sworn to as affidavits, the FDA will be unable to find more than one or two who will lie in court, even for money, as one can go to jail for that.

We don’t need 800 million dollars to fight the FDA; we just need your help in the form of a sworn affidavit if you have an MMS success story.

How to Make a Sworn Affidavit – ( Very Important)

All you need do is write up your success story, take it to a Justice of the Peace, and say that you want him to record your signature and story as an affidavit. He will need a picture ID or two. The cost is usually less than $30.

When Dr. Privateera was accused of claiming to cure cancer, 100 people stood up in court and said they were cured of cancer, but the judge disallowed it as hearsay. If there had been 100 affidavits on the judge’s bench, it would have been a different story.

We have to acknowledge that the big money is not coming to us. The Genesis 2 Church of Health and Healing is going to bring MMS to the world without the millions. I have personally approached several dozen rich philanthropists with my hat in hand. I have 5 rejection slips from Bill Gates. So we must turn to our members and the public for help and sworn affidavits will be very helpful.

Few people are sulfur-deficient? Does MSM help?
A: Most people derive all the sulfur they need from their diet, from the sulfur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine, which are abundant in animal-derived foods such as meat, eggs, milk and other dairy products.  MSM is not needed to correct sulfur deficiency; it is useful for its own beneficial effects. Theoretically, if someone were deficient in sulfur, MSM could be a reasonably good source.

Does MSM have any proven effects on insulin, blood sugar, blood pressure, or peptic ulcer?
A: No. Sulfur is a component of many amino acids and hormones, and is required for the production of many more. But just because sulfur is required to produce insulin, it is not correct to believe that taking sulfur as a supplement (e.g., in MSM) would have any effect on the body’s production or secretion of insulin. The regulatory pathways for blood sugar metabolism are far more complex than that.

What are the benefits of MSM over non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen?
A: MSM is an effective anti-inflammatory agent. Unlike NSAIDs, however, it does not bad side effects such as causing gastritis or inhibit cartilage synthesis.

Can patients with allergies to sulfa drugs still take MSM?
A: Many patients with allergies to sulfa drugs can take MSM. MSM contains no sulfonamides, and these allergies are not necessarily transferable to all sulfur-containing substances. However, patients with sulfonamide allergies also tend to have other medication allergies as well.

Is MSM safe for pregnant women and/or children?
A: There are no known reasons why pregnant women and children could not take MSM. However, its safety for these groups has not been definitively proven. As with most nutritional supplements, MSM should not be taken by pregnant women or children unless prescribed by a qualified doctor. Research is currently underway to determine the safety of MSM for these groups of people.

How is MSM made? MSM is made from DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide), and DMSO is made by processing the waste product (trees) of paper making (“pulp and paper industry”)– it is NEVER made by simply processing trees or any other form of plant life (no matter what you might read in some less informed Internet sources), for the sole purpose of extracting DMSO. It COULD be, just as sea water could be used for the sole purpose of extracting gold, but this is totally impractical.

In paper making — DMSO is extracted from the waste product of paper making — and it is the PAPER MAKING that allows the whole process to be practical. As paper is made, the paper is made of the fibers of wood. But, as trees grow, the fibers of wood are stuck together, in the living tree, by a substance called “lignin.” Lignin is like a glue that holds the fibers together. The wood could not be made into paper if all the fibers are still stuck together — so in paper making it must include some process by which the lignin is removed, allowing the wood fibers to be managed into flat paper, etc.

Lignin is removed with something called “pulping chemicals.” These chemicals are sodium sulfite (the majority), sodium sulfide and sodium carbonate). When these chemicals are soaked in a vat with wood chips, the lignin dissolves and the wood fibers can then be removed from the mass. Generally about 50% of the stuff in the vat would be the wood fibers, ready for making into paper, and 50% would be the residue, the waste product, of the original “pulping chemicals” and the lignin that has now been dissolved. That first liquid is called DMS (CH3 – S – CH3), but it quickly and easily further refined into DMSO.

DMSO is the main ingredient from which MSM is made by a controlled oxidation process using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and water. There are no other chemicals used, and the H2O2 is turned into water.

It is very important to realize that if you purchase MSM, then the MSM you receive has been distilled. NO CHEMICALS ARE LEFT BEHIND. It is the purest possible form of the chemical MSM and is made in one of the two factories in the USA.
